Upcoming 2024 Meteor Showers come and go, so the question people always ask, what is the next one. Here is the list that I am tracking:
2024
- Eta Aquariids (max: May 7/8)
- Delta Aquariids (July 29/30)
- Alpha Capricornids (July 27-28)
- Perseids just before mid-August (August 12/13)
- Orionids (max: October 21/22)
- Taurids (max: October 18 & November 5 for S. Taurids, November 12 for N. Taurids)
- Leonids of mid-November (max: November 17-19)
- Geminids of mid-December (max: December 13/14)
2025
- A meteor shower kicks off 2025 just days after millions have rung in the new year. The Quadrantids meteor shower, considered among the top annual meteor showers, peaks between Jan. 3 and Jan. 4. During peak activity and under favorable conditions, these showers can produce about 120 shooting stars per hour.
